The Atchison Juneteenth is more than a celebration of freedom. While we celebrate the emancipation of our ancestors (freedom from slavery), there is much on-going work that must be accomplished in order to reverse the effects of generational poverty, family separation, disease, health and wellness priorities, just to name a few.

The AJC, is a 501©(3) non-profit organization, is a positive, proactive team of citizens that has a community betterment mission to enhance the quality of life for all residents. As we witness other communities around the nation erupt in crime, violence and cries of social injustice, the objective is to maintain, enhance and create new solutions for a non-hostile community of harmony and reconciliation.
